EFF leader Julius Malema has refuted claims he brandished a real firearm during the party’s 5th birthday celebration in Mdantsane in 2018.
Facing trial in the East London Regional Court, Malema and co-accused Adriaan Snyman are facing charges under the Firearms Control Act.
Malema told magistrate Twanette Olivier the gun fired in a video was a toy.
