UN Human Rights says ending the war in Gaza is an urgent priority

The United Nations Human Rights says ending the war in Gaza and averting a full-blown regional conflict is an absolute and urgent priority.

The latest attack in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of at least 40 people after Israel struck a designated humanitarian zone.

UN commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, says states cannot accept blatant disregard for international law, including binding decisions of the Security Council, and orders of the International Court of Justice.
